Argus is private software operated by its owner for their own personal financial record-keeping. It is not offered, sold, or licensed to anyone else, and no third party is invited to create an account. Registration is restricted to a single authorised address.
Permitted use
Only the owner of this deployment may use it. Access is by passkey. Attempting to access it without authorisation is not permitted.
Connected accounts
Argus reads financial data from Plaid and from Intuit's QuickBooks API, in each case only after the owner completes that provider's own authorisation flow, and only for accounts and companies the owner selects. Use of those services is additionally governed by their own terms. Either connection can be revoked at any time, from within Argus or from the provider.
No financial, tax, or accounting advice
Argus organises and reports on data; it does not give advice. Its categorisations, budget figures, recurring-charge detection, and business-versus-personal tax classifications are conveniences, not professional judgements, and may be wrong. Anything produced for tax purposes — including the year-end export — is a working document for review by a qualified accountant, not a filing, and the owner is responsible for the accuracy of what is ultimately filed.
Automated suggestions
Where Argus suggests a category for an unfamiliar merchant, that suggestion is generated automatically and is not applied to any transaction unless the owner accepts it. Suggestions never set tax treatment.
No warranty
Argus is provided as-is, without warranty of any kind. It may be unavailable, may display incorrect figures, and may lose data. It is not a system of record: banks, card issuers, and QuickBooks remain authoritative for balances and transactions.
